Student Accommodation in Gateshead, Newcastle

Oozing with music, art and culture, Gateshead has evolved to become a trendy student hotspot in Newcastle. Set on the southern bank of the River Tyne, this area is home to iconic landmarks like The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, the Angel of the North, and the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art. And, with Newcastle University and Northumbria University just a ten-minute bus ride away, those early morning lectures are barely an inconvenience in your busy social calendar!

Awash with restaurants, bars and cafés, the nightlife in Gateshead is a big pull for students arriving in Newcastle to study. Along the dazzling Quayside, you can stroll along the river towards the historic Dunstan Staiths structure and grab a spot of lunch at the Staiths Café. When it comes to shopping, the Metrocentre has got you covered. Here, you'll find your favourite high-street shops and designer brands.

Once you've shopped 'til you drop, throw down your picnic blanket at Saltwell Park and watch the swans go by, or take a trip to the Gibside National Trust for a break away from the hustle and bustle in the beautiful countryside.

We have plenty of student homes in Gateshead, ranging in size and style, but if you're looking for something a bit more suburban, try searching for properties in Saltwell, just south of the city centre. If you're eager to live close to your university campus, Jesmond is always worth exploring.
