Student Accommodation in Kennington, London

You'd be forgiven if, whilst strolling around its idyllic squares and miniature parks, you managed to forget that Kennington is nestled in the centre of London. Lying just south of the River Thames, its characterful Georgian architecture and suburban feel set Kennington apart from areas like Canary Wharf and Soho, easily making it one of London's top hidden gems.

Don't be put off by its quaint charm, though—Kennington has long been a favoured district amongst students and professionals alike, thanks to it being located just over the river from Westminster. For years, politicians and scholars have taken up house in Kennington's many stately former townhouses, with most Kennington student accommodation comprising converted luxury apartments. Newer builds have started to become more popular too, offering larger 4-bedroom plus homes that suit a wide range of budgets.

Kennington serves as a reminder that culture really can be found everywhere you look in London—keep an eye out for a plaque on Kennington Road commemorating Charlie Chaplin (who grew up in the area), or head down to The Oval to while away the afternoon watching cricket. The Imperial War Museum is also a great way to spend a day, followed by a pint or two at one of Kennington's many pubs.

Fancy popping over to another borough for something different to do? The South Bank, London's busiest arts hub, is conveniently just a 15-minute walk away from Kennington. The area is well-connected by the Tube, too, thanks to the many Underground stations nearby, such as the Kennington, Oval and Lambeth North tube stations (which provide access to the city's Northern and Bakerloo lines). Vauxhall station also offers a gateway to the Overground network—it doesn't matter if you need to head over to University College London, King's College London or Queen Mary University, Kennington is the ideal place to look for student accommodation in London if you want to live somewhere that feels like you've stepped back in time but is still central and connected.
