Student Accommodation in Whitechapel, London

The vibrant East End district of Whitechapel is alive with opportunities for shopping, eating, soaking up some culture or simply kicking back in a café and watching the world go by. It's no wonder that students love it here.

Whether you're studying at Queen Mary University of London, London Metropolitan University, or City of London College, you won't struggle to get to class on time. Student homes in Whitechapel range in size and style to suit a variety of needs, but are always in demand due to the street art, the trendy cafés, the hip bars, and the vintage shops.

Foodies will love living in Whitechapel for the sheer amount of world food on offer. The historic and long-established Whitechapel Market stretches along Whitechapel Road and serves up a range of fruits, veg, meats and spices from Asia. Talking of food, if you've never been to Tayyab's, it's a must: here, you can sample proper Punjabi cuisine. It's BYOB here, so you can save some cash on the drinks front. Just remember to book in advance!

If you're up to it, book a guided tour and retrace the steps of Jack the Ripper, the famous serial killer whose stomping ground was the cobblestone alleys of 19th-century Whitechapel. Listening to tales of his gruesome acts isn't for everyone, of course, and thankfully, there's plenty more that this buzzing district has to offer.

For a cute date night or a film night with your friends, visit Genesis on Mile End Road, a trendy independent cinema that charges less than the price of a pint to watch a movie. If you do have a bit of extra cash, book a sofa with a blanket and get table service to make for a special evening. Meanwhile, Whitechapel Gallery is arguably one of the best experiences in the area, displaying creative and captivating works from upcoming local artists.
