Student Accommodation in Twickenham, London

Famous throughout the world as the home of English Rugby, Twickenham is a picturesque suburb that sits on banks of the Thames in southwest London.

If you're studying at St Mary's University, this area is ideal; you'll be able to bounce out of bed and into your class in no time, but you'll also have a bustling high street brimming with indie shops, cafés and bars on your doorstep. Twickenham also boasts an abundance of transport links. From Strawberry Hill Station, you can get to central London in just over half an hour.

Its leafy riverside location means student homes in Twickenham are always in high demand, and it won't take you long to see what makes this area popular. If you're a rugby fan, there's an obvious attraction in the area. Even if you can't get your hands on some tickets, it's well worth having a nose around the grounds of Twickenham Stadium with one of their guided tours.

Beyond games of rugby union at the stadium or idyllic Thames-side strolls down cobbled streets, this suburb boasts plenty of traditional pubs with affordable prices and picturesque parks for ad-hoc picnics. The tranquillity of York House Gardens is equally a pull; these gorgeous gardens are well kept and offer peace and quiet from the busy town centre.

In the middle of the Thames at Twickenham, you'll find Eel Pie Island. Once a countercultural hippie haven that saw debuts from the Rolling Stones, Genesis and The Who, the island is steeped in music history and makes for a scenic day out.
