Student Homes in Newsome, Huddersfield

Just one mile south of Huddersfield's town centre sits Newsome, a charming village that was once a home to textile mills during the industrial revolution. Today, the area is home to a vibrant community of families and students from the University of Huddersfield.

Newsome lies at the crest of a hillside above the Holme Valley, but below Castle Hill, meaning you'll never have to go far for a picturesque picnic in the English countryside. Talking of English traditions, Newsome Fisheries serves delicious fish and chips for those nights when cooking is off the table!

Along with this, the village offers residents a selection of shops including a bakery, off-license and plenty of charity shops for bargain hunting or theme nights. You'll find most of these on Church Lane, just off Newsome Road. From Church Towngate, there are regular buses that will take you to either the city or to the university in just under twenty minutes.
