The Lancaster student housing market: everything you need to know

The most popular student area in Lancaster is the town centre, one of the liveliest areas of the city, and the hub of Lancaster’s heritage. Alternatively, Bowerham Road is one of the most sought-after areas of Lancaster for student accommodation. This does mean slightly higher rent prices, but as it's located centrally, it has great accessibility to other areas of the city, making it well worth the premium. This hotspot of student activity is a good place to settle if you’re looking for easy access to the city centre.

Just south of the city is Hala Road, located in an ideal spot for a more rural feel. The area is one of the best spots for getting some space while you study – perfect for third years. Because of its location, the area offers a slightly cheaper alternative to those in the town centre.

One-bed student accommodation takes the crown here, showing that Lancaster students value their independence. However, five-bed, two-bed, and three-bed properties are also well-searched for, so if you're after something more social, you won't have to look far here.
