Student Homes in Clifton, York

The historic suburb of Clifton in York continues to attract students studying at both the University of York and York St. John University for its proximity to the town centre, warm community feel and abundance of greenery, which gives the area a countryside feel, despite being so close to the city. Houses here range from refurbished period properties to terraced homes with plenty of rooms and new-build apartments that suit students who favour contemporary comforts.

Whether it follows a wild night out or accompanies a relaxing night in, your new favourite takeaway in Clifton can be found on Burton Stone Lane in the form of a scrumptious slice of Pizza from Slice of Heaven. If you do need to soak up the booze, saunter over to Mrs Greedy's for a mouth-watering full English the next morning.

Work up a sweat at the University Sports Field on Haxby Road, York St John University's dedicated sports campus. You'll find everything here from grass pitches and netball courts to an indoor sports barn and a 100m sprint track. If you aren't studying at York St. John, don't worry! Clifton is blessed with a gorgeous medieval style park that can be found on Shipton Road. Named ‘The Homestead', it's easy to fall in love with this well-tended hidden gem. As well as peaceful picnics in the park, students seeking to stay active can hike through the wonderful woodlands or take a scenic jog alongside the wildflower meadow.
