Student Accommodation at Bournemouth University

First opened in 1992, Bournemouth University has risen up the ranks to become one of the UK’s leading modern universities. Boasting an eclectic mix of courses and a student population of over 16,000, including over 3,000 international students from over 120 countries, the university consistently delivers on its mission to inspire learning.

In 2017, Bournemouth University received a Silver rating in the prestigious Teaching Excellence Framework. So, whether you’ve enrolled to a creative, professional, technological, scientific or humanities course, you’ll be taught by specialists who are passionate about their subject and dedicated in giving you the tools to kickstart your career.

Situated in the county of Dorset, a long-established tourist destination, the university’s campuses are a short distance from seaside strolls, coastal cafés and a collection of award-winning clubs, bars and restaurants. The beauty of the rugged coastline and sprawling sandy beaches combined with the charm of the town centre make Bournemouth the perfect setting for your studies – whether you’re an undergraduate or returning to get a masters or post-graduate degree. That said, a strong transport infrastructure keeps Bournemouth’s students linked up with the rest of the UK and beyond by road or rail.

When you’re studying at Bournemouth University, you can take pride in the fact that your university is committed to devising solutions to real-world problems through its ground-breaking research. Students play a key role in this, co-creating knowledge and helping to fuel pioneering discoveries.

When it comes to finding student accommodation at Bournemouth University, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. Since the campus is situated in the Wallisdown corridor, this area could be ideal. Plus, it boasts a wide range of student properties to suit a variety of preferences.

However, we also recommend viewing our properties in the surrounding areas of Moordown and Ensbury Park. The gorgeous grasslands and wooded areas in these quaint suburbs are great for mindfulness and keeping fit, while providing regular bus links to keep students linked up with campus and the town centre. Talking of which, if you’re new to Bournemouth, you might prefer to live more centrally in the centre itself or Lansdowne Road, a vibrant student hotspot that’s always in demand.

Life on Campus

Situated in the county of Dorset, Bournemouth University has two campuses: the Talbot Campus on the Poole side of the boundary with Bournemouth, and Lansdowne Campus, which can be found in the heart of the town centre.

The Talbot Campus is where the main university buildings are located, including the all-important Students' Union and an unrivalled library with all the materials you’ll need to help your studies. You’ll also have a range of restaurants and cafés to choose from where you can chill with your mates and enjoy some well-earned relaxation. Thanks to a surplus of bus services provided by the university, you’ll be able to travel between campuses every 15 minutes during term-time.

At the Lansdowne Campus, you’ll find the Old Fire Station – that’s the Students’ Union nightclub - which is home to an eclectic rotation of DJs who keep the tunes coming ‘til late.
